Porsche Cayenne 955 spare parts

Technical data

The Cayenne was Porsche's first SUV and also the first Porsche with 4 doors. It was launched at a time when the Porsche company had real financial problems. They had a number of sports cars in their lineup that weren't selling very well and were in no way aimed at the mainstream. Porsche needed something for the mainstream, and nothing was as mainstream in the early 2000s as an SUV. This SUV saved the sports car maker and put it on a financial course that made it the most profitable automaker in the world. The Cayenne was not without controversy, however. 911 fans balked at the idea of a heavy off-roader from Porsche, and many predicted it would be a failure. A few years later, the first-generation Cayenne became the best-selling Porsche of all time and remained so until the end of its production. The first generation Cayenne actually consists of two sub-generations. They are known as the Cayenne 955 and the Cayenne 957. The Cayenne 955 was the first Cayenne and was sold from 2002 to 2007. Models included the base Cayenne, the Cayenne S, the Cayenne Turbo, and the Cayenne Turbo S. Although there was officially no 2007 model year Cayenne, they could be found at dealerships.

Engine and prices

The Cayenne S was originally equipped with a 350hp 4.5-liter V8, while the Cayenne Turbo was the most powerful SUV on the market with 450hp and 620Nm of torque. For the 2005 model year, Porsche added a base model with a 3.2-liter, narrow-angle V6 engine that produced 247 hp. In 2006, Porsche launched a Turbo S version to compete with the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG. The Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.5-liter V8 that produces 521 hp and 720 Nm of torque; acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes 5.2 seconds and top speed is 265 km/h. It features a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Production of the Cayenne 955 took place in a purpose-built plant in Leipzig, where the engine, transmission and all other components and assemblies were installed in the body.
