The second generation Porsche Cayenne was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It came with a new front design reminiscent of the Panamera and a lighter body. Inside, the inspiration from the Panamera was evident. The steering wheel, instrument cluster and even the center console were redesigned. The sunroof was standard on the S version.
Engine and prices
The Cayenne 958's engine lineup includes 6- and 8-cylinder engines, some of which the model shares with the VW Touareg and some of which borrow technology from Audi. With a minimum output of 300 hp, which rises to 570 hp in the 4.8-liter biturbo, the gasoline-engined models are as dynamic as a true sports car - although all but the weakest come with an automatic transmission as standard. The diesel models are slightly below this in terms of performance. To bring this power to the road in a controlled manner, the Cayenne features Porsche's PTM (Porsche Traction Management) all-wheel drive system, which enables secure handling and safe steering even at high speeds and in adverse road conditions. Optionally, some models also feature Porsche Torque Vectoring, which optimizes the dynamics and stability of the handling.
