Description:
If the odometer/trip meter has failed on your Volvo 240, then one or both of these gears is usually the cause.
The reason was an assembly error by the manufacturer. The original gear was made from a urethane base but was factory greased with a petroleum-based lubricant. This lubricant has made the material porous over the years. During the replacement, you should therefore definitely clean the lubricant from the components.
The material of this gear offered is mixed with graphite additives and does not require any lubricant!

The attached disc gear also often fails because it has also come into contact with the wrong lubricant. To avoid duplicate assembly work, we recommend replacing the V25 and this matching disc gear in pairs.

If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grab the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything that keeps the needle on the shaft.
