Description:
If the counter on your VDO knot meter has stopped, then the gear wheel shown is usually the cause. Due to a material defect, the old plastic decomposes and the beige-colored original gear crumbles after a few years.
Variants:
20x21 - 20x32 (the large sprocket is the same, the small one varies from 21 - 32)
You can count the partner gear of the small sprocket, the sum of both must add up to 70.
1st example: Partner wheel =48 ->70-48 = 22 ->you need a 20x22
2nd example: partner wheel =38 ->70-38 = 32 ->you need a 20x32
Important:
There are several gear combinations. For quick and easy processing, we therefore ask you to tell us the number of teeth AND the instrument type with VDO part number directly in the comments field when purchasing. Without this information, we will send you the most commonly installed gear type.
If your double gear wheel is too damaged, you can also count the number of teeth of the partner gear wheel of the smaller gear wheel. This refers to the gear that meshes with the smaller ring gear of this double gear.

Quality:
Our gears are manufactured with great care and true to the original using the injection molding process and are not 3D-printed in-house constructions. We work with a manufacturer that specializes in the production of plastic gears and is the global market leader with its repair solutions.
The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained, which is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
The material we use is the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grip the speedometer needle in the center and turn it counterclockwise. Pull gently. Friction is all that keeps the needle on the shaft.
