Description:
If the odometer/trip meter has failed on your vehicle, the gears shown are usually the cause. Most of the time one of the gears breaks and the drive stalls. We also offer the gears separately, but recommend, especially commercial customers, to change these three at the same time when repairing. Because the respective partner gear often breaks shortly after replacement.
Important:
1. First determine whether you have installed a VDO or a MotoMeter drive. To do this, take the instrument cluster out of the dashboard and look at the nameplates at the back. The information on the front between the tachometer and the speedometer is NOT always correct!
2. The number of teeth of the E3 type smaller sprocket varies from 12 to 19 teeth depending on the model. It depends on many factors (wheel size, gearbox type, engine type, year of manufacture and much more). A secure assignment is not possible.
We therefore ask you to let us know the number of teeth on your E3 gear in the comments field when purchasing. Without this information, we will send you the most commonly installed gear types.

The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
The material we use is the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grab the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything that keeps the needle on the shaft.
