Description:
Over the years, all gas springs lose their operating pressure and therefore their function deteriorates. The higher the manufacturing quality of the piston rod, its coating, and the seal, the longer the springs will maintain the specified rated force.
It is therefore highly recommended to use proven brand-name products. Generic products often do not have the specified extension force even when new, and the hood/lid only opens fully with manual assistance.

Vehicles are already fitted with different gas springs from the factory, depending on the model and equipment. For example, models with a rear spoiler or aluminum hood have different gas springs.
