Description:
Engine gaskets prevent air, moisture, and dirt particles from entering the engine. They also prevent oil, coolant, and hot exhaust gases from escaping. Furthermore, engine gaskets, or sealing rings/seals, prevent the various fluids in the engine from mixing unintentionally, thus keeping fuel, engine oil, and coolant separate.
Therefore, every gasket on the crankcase, cylinder head, valve cover, and crankshaft should be in perfect condition. Otherwise, oil loss and costly consequential damage can occur.
