Description:
The engine mounts of modern vehicles are so-called hydraulic mounts. These are oil-filled, two-chamber systems that function like a suspension shock absorber. This allows for better, more linear damping characteristics with a greater damping travel than with conventional rubber mounts. However, the hydraulic engine mounts can cause the same issues as shock absorbers. This is noticeable through thumping noises and vibrations from the engine.
