The transaxle shaft, also frequently called central tube or driveshaft, connects the front-mounted engine to the transmission located at the rear axle. This ensures optimal and even weight distribution in the vehicle.
A defective transaxle shaft is noticeable by a thumping noise from the vehicle floor.
