Brittle or torn rubber parts in the area of u200bu200bthe intake manifold or the intake manifold are often the reason for rough engine running. The engine often does not run smoothly, especially when idling, if it can draw in false air through aged and hardened rubber parts.
Therefore, sleeves, intermediate flanges, hoses and intake manifolds should be replaced at the first signs of aging.
Replacing the rubber parts is standard practice in full restorations.
