Description:
Oil lines are inconspicuous components, but if they break, they can cause major damage. For years they connect the engine, oil cooler or timing chain tensioner without even being noticed.
If they crack/break, large quantities of oil leak out (possibly the entire contents of the oil tank) and the component is no longer reliably supplied with engine oil.
It is therefore advisable to replace oil hoses or lines if they show obvious signs of age before damage can occur.
During full restorations, all oil lines and oil hoses are usually replaced.
