Description:
The wishbone is a central part of the chassis and guides the steering knuckle. The wishbone therefore creates a defined connection between the wheel and the body.
The most common cause of wishbone defects are the rubber bearings, which become brittle and crack over time. This means that the wishbone has more play without the desired damping. Accordingly, a defective rubber bearing on the wishbone can be noticed by reduced tracking accuracy, noise when driving over bumps (rumble), poor driving dynamics when cornering and one-sided high tire wear. A damaged wishbone can affect other components of the chassis, so it should be replaced immediately to avoid expensive repairs. In many cases it is cheaper to replace the entire wishbone than to press in individual rubber bearings.
