Oil lines are inconspicuous components, but if they are defective they can cause major damage. They connect the engine, oil cooler or the chain tensioner of the timing chain for years without appearing.
If there is a crack/break, large amounts of oil will escape (possibly the entire contents of the oil tank) and the component will no longer be reliably supplied with engine oil.
