Description:
The Porsche 928 has a variety of different V-belts and timing belts thanks to its five auxiliary units. Depending on the year of manufacture and equipment, the air pump, alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor and engine fan are driven via belts.
In addition, the two camshafts as well as the oil pump and the water pump via a toothed belt.
Changes in the units, such as the different power steering pump from 1985 or different fan ratios (special equipment M319), which was standard on the USA/CND/Japan models, for example, complicate the selection of the right belts for the Porsche 928.
