If the odometer/trip meter on your vehicle has failed, this gear is usually the cause. The original beige-brown gears crumble over the years and must be replaced.

Advantages:
While buying a used speedometer initially saves on repairs, it carries the risk that the gear will also break soon. Storage times and cold temperatures, in particular, further damage the gears. Due to an incorrect choice of material by VDO, all original gears of this type will break over time!
If you have already disassembled the speedometer, we also recommend replacing the bulbs. These lose a noticeable amount of brightness over the years.

Quality:
Our gears are meticulously manufactured using injection molding, true to the original design, and are not 3D-printed in-house creations. We work with a manufacturer specializing in the production of plastic gears and a global market leader in repair solutions.
The involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
We use the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives as the material. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.

If you disassemble the speedometer beforehand, please note that the speedometer needle shaft is very delicate. Grasp the speedometer needle in the center and turn it counterclockwise, pulling gently as you do so. Friction is all that keeps the needle on the shaft.
