The crankshaft, as a central component of the engine, connects the drivetrain (clutch, transmission, etc.) to the pistons and cylinders.
The crankshaft bearings are subjected to high loads.
In most cases, the crankshaft is a forged and therefore robust component.
The main bearings of the crankshaft wear out more frequently.
If the crankshaft bearings are worn and not replaced in time, damage to the bearing surfaces of the crankshaft can result.
It is therefore advisable to check the proper functioning of the crankshaft bearings when working on the engine.
