Description:
The oil pump is one of the most important components in the engine. It ensures sufficient oil pressure so that the engine is supplied with enough lubricant and the lubricating film does not break down.
The dry sump lubrication system common in motorsport depends on the oil pump being in good condition.
Therefore, the oil pump should always be checked and replaced if necessary during an engine overhaul.

In 1909, the Pierburg brothers founded Pierburg GmbH in Berlin, which has been producing carburetors ever since. In 1986, the Düsseldorf-based Rheinmetall Group acquired the company and began building up its automotive technology division. In 1998, Pierburg merged with Kolbenschmidt AG, also acquired by Rheinmetall, to form Kolbenschmidt Pierburg AG. Rheinmetall AG is therefore very well positioned "around the engine." Within the Kolbenschmidt Pierburg Group, Pierburg is considered an expert in the areas of emissions reduction, air supply, and throttle valves.
