Brittle or cracked rubber parts in the area of u200bu200bthe intake manifold or intake manifolds are often the cause of rough engine running. Especially at idle, the engine often runs poorly if it can draw in unmetered air through aged and hardened rubber parts.
Therefore, sleeves, intermediate flanges, hoses, and intake manifolds should be replaced at the first signs of aging.
Replacing rubber parts is standard practice during complete restorations.
