Original Bilstein

Description:
If your vehicle bounces repeatedly while driving on uneven roads or when depressed while stationary, the shock absorbers may be defective and should be replaced. Creaking and squeaking noises are also an indication of this. Here you will find high-quality replacements from the Bilstein brand. In addition to the original B4 replacement, you will usually also find sportier, stiffer B6 and shorter B8 versions in our shop.
This shock absorber is suitable for the specified models with a Boge strut. The damper designation "Series Turbo" describes the characteristic value. This is composed of the rebound and compression damping of the damper. If you are looking for stiffer (sportier) or softer shock absorbers, you will find many other specifications in our shop.

Notes:
Three different front axle shock absorber struts were fitted as standard equipment in the F and G models from 1972-1989.

Bilstein strut (green):
Depending on requirements, the cartridge insert can be replaced. These can be found under part numbers 3904 (set 1944), 3927 (set 1961), 3935 (set 1966), 3928 (set 1962) and 3551 (set 1924).

Boge/Sachs strut (black):
The shock absorbers are bolted on and can be replaced with a Bilstein damper. Here too, we offer a selection of different specifications under article numbers 3926 (Set 1960), 3902 (Set 1942), and 3903 (Set 1943). G-models from model year 07/85 onwards have an axle shaft with an external thread, which is why shock absorber 3946 (Set 1975) with an internal thread on the union nut is suitable for this case. The cartridge wrench 1989 with an inner diameter of 55 mm is required for installation. Koni axle shaft (red): Can be replaced with a Bilstein axle shaft. We carry axle shafts in two configurations under numbers 3929/3930 (Set 1987) and 3905/3906 (Set 1984).

As early as 1873, August Bilstein founded the company AUBI in Ennepetal and, starting in 1954, began developing and supplying monotube gas pressure dampers – a significant contribution to the history of the automotive industry. From 1961, the company entered the world of motorsport, equipping Porsche and Formula 1 racing cars in particular. Since then, Bilstein has stood for outstanding quality and offers diverse solutions for many premium manufacturers. Following its acquisition by Krupp Stahl AG in 1991 and the merger with Thyssen in 1997, the company became ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH.
