Description:
If the counter on your VDO knot meter has stopped, the gear shown is usually the cause. Due to a material defect, the old plastic deteriorates, and the beige original gear crumbles after a few years.

Variants:
20x21 - 20x32 (the large gear is constant, the small one varies from 21 to 32)
You can count the gears of the smaller gear; the sum of both must equal 70.
1. Example: Partner gear = 48 ->70-48 = 22 ->You need a 20x22
2. Example: Partner gear = 38 ->70-38 = 32 ->You need a 20x32

Important:
There are several gear combinations. For simple and quick processing, please tell us the number of teeth AND the instrument type with the VDO part number in the comment field when purchasing. Without this information, we will send you the most commonly used gear type.
If your double gear is too damaged, you can also count the number of teeth on the partner gear of the smaller gear. This refers to the gear that engages with the smaller tooth ring of this double gear.

Quality:

The so-called involute tooth geometry is maintained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
We use the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives as the material. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.

If you disassemble the speedometer beforehand, please note that the speedometer needle shaft is very delicate. Grasp the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull gently while doing so. Friction is all that holds the needle on the shaft.
