Description:
The trailing arm is a central part of the chassis. The trailing arm is arranged in the direction of travel and absorbs the longitudinal forces.
In many cases, the rubber sleeve of the control arm fails due to the dynamic load and brittleness of the material, allowing dirt and water to enter the ball joint. For this reason, trailing arms should be inspected regularly for play in the joint. The control arms should always be replaced axle by axle.
