Description:
The magnetic switch pushes the freewheel unit into the starter ring gear of the flywheel via a deflection lever.
If the magnetic switch no longer works or is stuck, the starter runs idle when starting and does not engage with the engine or the starter pinion runs continuously after starting. This can result in a defective starter motor as a result. It is therefore recommended to replace the magnetic switch at the first sign.
In order to be able to use this switch on the early 944 (before '85), the cable lug on the vehicle must be changed.
