Description:
In the 914, the thermostat controls the opening and closing of air flaps via a pull wire and thus doses cooling to the air-cooled engine. This ensures a short cold running phase while the engine is fully cooled under load.
If the wire is broken or difficult to move, the flaps can no longer be adjusted reliably. The result is unnecessarily long warm-up phases or the engine overheating. It is therefore important to replace the Bowden cable early so that the temperature control can function properly again.
