Description:
The trailing arm is a central part of the chassis. The control arm is arranged in the direction of travel and absorbs the longitudinal forces.
In many cases, the rubber sleeve of the guide joint fails due to dynamic loads and embrittlement of the material, which can allow dirt and water to enter the ball joint. Therefore, trailing arms should be inspected regularly for play in the joint. The control arms should always be replaced axle by axle.
