Description:
The trailing arm is a central part of the suspension. The arm is oriented in the direction of travel and absorbs longitudinal forces.
In many cases, the rubber boot of the ball joint fails due to dynamic stress and material embrittlement, allowing dirt and water to enter the ball joint. Therefore, trailing arms should be regularly inspected for play in the joint. Control arms should always be replaced in pairs (axle-wise).
