Description:
The strut mount forms the connection between the strut and the body and is therefore also called a strut mount. Before the strut mount can be attached to the body, the springs must usually be pre-tensioned and mounted to the shock absorber with the strut mount.
A defective strut mount is noticeable by creaking or grinding noises.
Due to the considerable installation effort, it is advisable to always replace the strut mounts when replacing the shock absorbers or struts, or when performing other work on the suspension.
The stop plates of the strut mounts are often heavily rusted/corroded and should always be replaced as well.
