Description:
This offer includes a repair kit for the digital clock of your VW Golf 4. The clock is located in the instrument cluster and displays the time using its typical 7-segment display. Therefore, this display should not be confused with other displays in the instrument cluster. The same instrument cluster was also used in other models from that era, and the display may also fit those models. After many years of use and frequent temperature fluctuations, the seal of the LCD elements eventually fails, and the display leaks. Although the component itself is still fully functional, the numbers and symbols can no longer be read completely. Aging of the conductive rubber contacts is also a common reason for incomplete readability of the display. As a "do-it-yourself" solution, even inexperienced hobbyists can repair the display themselves using our illustrated instructions. The repair requires no complex assembly work or soldering. Since the aging of displays is a general problem, we generally advise against buying used, "still intact" instrument clusters. It's only a matter of time before the display fails. Replacing your own display is therefore the more economical solution in the long run.
