Description:
The speed relay, also known as a time relay or time switch, is used in mechanical port fuel injection systems to interrupt the fuel supply as soon as the vehicle is in overrun mode. Some vehicles with carburetors also have this functionality. Above approximately 1300 rpm, the relay reactivates the fuel supply to prevent the engine from stalling.

Possible signs of a defect:
- Engine stalls during overrun mode
- Engine only starts with slight pressure on the accelerator pedal
- Misfires during overrun mode
