Excellent build quality

Description:
If the odometer in your vehicle has failed, this gear is almost always the cause. The original beige-brown gears crumble over the years due to a material defect and must be replaced.

Variants:
While we can say with a high degree of certainty, we cannot guarantee 100% which model uses which gear size. Too many factors (engine type/transmission type/gear ratio/differential type/year of manufacture/model) are involved.
However, the following data reliably helps in determining the correct gear:

Advantages:
While buying a used speedometer initially saves on repairs, it carries the risk that the gear will break soon. Storage and cold temperatures, in particular, further damage the gears. Due to an incorrect choice of material by VDO, all original gears of this type will break over time!
If you have already disassembled the speedometer, we also recommend replacing the bulbs. These noticeably lose brightness over the years.

Quality:
Our gears are manufactured using a complex and faithful injection molding process and are not 3D-printed in-house designs. We work with a manufacturer specializing in the production of plastic gears and a global market leader in repair solutions.
The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
We use the thermoplastic material Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.

If you disassemble the speedometer beforehand, please note that the speedometer needle shaft is very delicate. Grip the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise, pulling gently. Friction is all that holds the needle on the shaft.
