Description:
This ignition switch is mounted on the rear of the steering lock housing. Ignition switches are a common source of starting problems. Please note that Porsche changed the steering lock on both the 986 Boxster and the 996 Carrera/Turbo for the 2004 model year. The differences can be identified by the steering switch's height and shape. The pin assignment, number of pins, and connector shape on the underside are the same for both versions. We stock both types of ignition switches. The corresponding steering lock, in which the ignition switch is installed, has part number 99634701706.
