Description:
Components in the valve train are subject to high stresses at fluctuating temperatures. Controlled by the camshaft, the valves are actuated via the rocker arms.
Clattering/knocking noises, especially when the engine is cold, indicate worn components in the valve train or incorrectly adjusted valve clearance.
During an engine overhaul or maintenance, worn or damaged components must be replaced immediately to prevent consequential damage.
