Description:
Oil lines are inconspicuous components, but a defect can cause significant damage. For years, they connect the engine, oil cooler, or timing chain tensioner without being noticeable.
If a line cracks or breaks, large quantities of oil (possibly the entire contents of the oil tank) leak out, and the component is no longer reliably supplied with engine oil.
It is therefore advisable to replace oil hoses or lines when they show obvious signs of aging before damage can occur.
During complete restorations, all oil lines are usually replaced.
