Technical data & engine of the Porsche 991

The Porsche 991 was produced from 2011 to 2019. At its heart remained the six-cylinder boxer engine, which, as part of the facelift from 2015 onwards, was equipped with a turbocharger in all Carrera versions.

Driving Performance and Progress

  • Performance Range: Engine output ranged from the 3.0-liter engine with 370 hp in the Carrera to the 4.0-liter engine with 580 hp in the GT3 RS.
  • Transmission and Drive: You had the choice between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive, manual transmission or the modern PDK dual-clutch transmission.
  • Everyday Usability: Thanks to technological advances and improvements in the control system, the 991 successfully balanced pure driving pleasure with improved everyday usability (e.g., through lower fuel consumption).

Design and Body Variants

The 991 model was available in the classic body styles:
