Technical data & innovations of the Porsche Panamera 970FL

The facelift of the Porsche Panamera was presented at Auto Shanghai in 2013. The most important visual change was the rear; technically, it was the departure from the naturally aspirated V8 engine in the S models.

Engine and Hybrid Technology

  • S/4S Engine: The naturally aspirated V8 engine was replaced by a more efficient, twin-turbocharged 3.0-literV6 engine (420 hp) to reduce emissions.
  • Plug-in Hybrid: Porsche introduced the Panamera S E-Hybrid , which combined a supercharged V6 engine and a 71 kW electric motor for a total output of 416 hp and could travel up to 135 km/h in all-electric mode.
  • Turbo S: The more powerful Turbo S received new turbochargers and increased injection pressure to boost torque to up to 800 Nm (in overboost).
  • Transmission: An option for a manual transmission was discontinued on the facelift models.

The model range was expanded to include Executive variants with a longer wheelbase. The sporty GTS also remained in the lineup.
