Description:
The strut mount forms the connection between the spring strut and the body and is therefore also called a strut mount. Before the strut mount can be attached to the body, in most cases the springs have to be pre-loaded and mounted on the shock absorber with the strut mount.
A defective strut mount is noticeable by creaking or grinding noises.
Due to the considerable installation work involved, it is advisable to always replace the strut mounts when replacing the shock absorbers or spring struts or carrying out other work on the chassis.
The stop plates of the strut mounts are often heavily rusted/corroded and should always be replaced as well.
