Description:

August Bilstein founded the company AUBI in Ennepetal in 1873 and began developing and supplying monotube gas pressure shock absorbers in 1954 – a significant contribution to the history of the automotive industry. From 1961, the company entered motorsport and equipped, in particular, Porsche and Formula 1 racing cars. Since then, Bilstein has stood for outstanding quality and offers diverse solutions for many premium manufacturers. Following the acquisition by Krupp Stahl AG in 1991 and the merger with Thyssen in 1997, the company name ThyssenKrupp Bilstein GmbH was established.
