Description:
This offer includes a complete repair kit for your VW Golf 1 MFA multifunction display. The MFA was also used in other models of the same era, and this display will fit them as well. However, it is not compatible with simple digital clocks, which require a different display.

After many years of use and frequent temperature fluctuations, the seals on the LCD elements eventually fail, and the display leaks. Although the overall component still functions fully, the numbers and symbols are no longer fully legible. Aging of the associated conductive rubber contacts is also a common reason for incomplete readability of the displays, even if the liquid crystal display (LCD) itself is still completely intact.
As a do-it-yourself solution, even inexperienced hobbyists can repair the display themselves using the components offered here, along with our support and illustrated instructions. The inner housing of the climate control unit in Audis is usually not only clipped in, but the clips are also coated with elastic adhesive/silicone. This adhesive must be cut during disassembly. Apart from this peculiarity, no complicated assembly work or soldering is required.

Because the aging of displays is a general problem, we generally advise against buying used, still-intact components. Even with these, it's only a matter of time before the display stops working. Replacing your own display is therefore always the more economical option in the long run.
