This timing chain kit saves you research and annoying inconveniences if the products you ordered do not fit the specified model. This set includes the timing chains for the camshaft and intermediate shaft, as well as the slide and tensioning rails. We will soon include the missing short timing chain for the (996.105.171.58) in our range and then in this set.

Due to the complex design with an intermediate shaft and two overhead camshafts, the water boxers of the modern Porsche 911 Carrera and Boxster have a variety of chains and slide rails. These vary depending on the displacement or model year, even within a series. For example, the chain guides were slightly changed between the 3.4L and 3.6L Carrera engines from 2001 to 2002. The engines of the 911 turbo and GT models, however, are based on the proven 911 technology from the previous models. Here, timing chains as well as slide rails and tensioning rails for the valve control are fundamentally different.
For our engine components, vehicle information is always based on Porsche's spare parts program. The manufacturers of tension rails, slide rails and timing chains are well-known brands. You can find the components for your engine overhaul separately or as ready-made sets in our webshop.
