This timing chain kit saves you the research and frustration of discovering that the ordered products don't fit the specified model. This set includes the timing chains for the camshaft and intermediate shaft, as well as the guide and tensioner rails. The missing short timing chain for the (996.105.171.58) will soon be added to our product range and included in this set.

Due to the complex design with an intermediate shaft and two overhead camshafts, the water-cooled boxer engines of the modern Porsche 911 Carrera and Boxster have a large number of chains and guide rails. These vary depending on engine displacement and model year, even within the same series. For example, the chain guide was slightly modified between the 3.4L and 3.6L Carrera engines from 2001 to 2002. The engines of the 911 Turbo and GT models, however, are based on the proven 911 technology from their predecessors. Here, the timing chains, guide rails, and tensioner rails for the valve train are fundamentally different.
