Description:
Hydraulic lifters (also called hydros) are typical wear parts in Porsche engines. Defective hydraulic lifters usually make themselves known through clicking engine noises. If this clicking does not disappear after the engine has warmed up, it is a sign of insufficient oil in the hydraulic lifters.
Because the installation costs of the valve lifters exceed the material costs, it is always recommended to replace all hydraulic lifters.
Engines with engine codes M96.01 / M96.02 / M96.03 / M96.04 and M96.20 / M96.21 / M96.22 / M96.23 / M96.24 / M96.25 / M96.26 are fitted with 24 hydraulic tappets of this type.
Engines with engine codes M97.01 / M97.20 / M97.21 / M97.22 are fitted with only 12 hydraulic tappets of this type.
Porsche Cayenne engines with engine codes M48.00 / M48.50 are fitted with 32 hydraulic tappets of this type. Please note "suitable for".
