Description:
The strut mount forms the connection between the suspension strut and the body and is therefore also known as the strut mount. Before the strut mount can be attached to the body, in most cases the springs must be preloaded and mounted on the shock absorber with the strut mount.
A defective strut bearing is noticeable by creaking or grinding noises.
Due to the considerable assembly work involved, it is advisable to always replace the strut bearings when replacing the shock absorbers or suspension struts or carrying out other work on the chassis.
The stop plates of the strut bearings are often heavily rusted / corroded and should always be replaced at the same time.
