The 964 Carrera 4 has 2 slave cylinders installed for lock actuation. These slave cylinders are controlled by the control valve, which implements the incoming signals from the ABS/PDAS module. By increasing or reducing the system pressure, the locking effect of the differential is dynamically influenced.
The cylinders often become leaky due to internal corrosion, meaning replacement is often the only alternative.
