Description:
The valve cover serves as a maintenance access for the engine and seals it to prevent the escape of engine oil and the entry of air, moisture and dirt. Depending on the engine, the cylinder head cover houses the valve control, spark plugs, injectors and various inlet openings.
A defect in the valve cover can be caused either by rust or corrosion or by thermal distortion.
Oil loss is a common consequence.
When replacing the valve cover, it is always advisable to also replace the valve cover gasket.
