Components that have been tried and tested over many years
Description: If the odometer/trip meter has failed on your Volvo, then this gear is the cause. The reason was an assembly error by the manufacturer. The original gear was made from a urethane base but was factory greased with a petroleum-based lubricant. This lubricant has made the material porous over the years. During the replacement, you should therefore definitely clean the lubricant from the components. The material of this gear offered is mixed with graphite additives and does not require any lubricant!
The attached disc gear also often fails because it has also come into contact with the wrong lubricant. In order to avoid double assembly work, we recommend replacing them in pairs with the corresponding disc gear. You can find offers for this in the shop.
A notice: It is not advisable to buy used speedometers because sooner or later the pinion will break. In addition, you retain the original mileage during repairs!
Service: We have over 100 gear variants in our range and can supply the right gears if required!
+ all alternative sizes always in stock + fast exchange service in the event of a size discrepancy
For the repair, we will send you illustrated repair instructions (German/English) by email.
Quality: Our gears are elaborately and faithfully manufactured using injection molding and are not self-made 3D printed products. We work with a manufacturer that specializes in the production of plastic gears and is the global market leader with its repair solutions. The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs. The material we use is the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.
If you disassemble the speedometer in advance, please note that the shaft of the speedometer needle is very sensitive. Grab the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise. Pull lightly. Friction is everything that keeps the needle on the shaft.
