Description:
Components in the valve train are subject to high loads at changing temperatures. Controlled by the camshaft, actuation occurs via the rocker arms on the valves.
Clacking / nailing noises, especially when the engine is cold, are signs of worn components in the valve control or incorrectly set valve clearance.
