Description:
If the odometer/trip meter on your Volvo has failed, then this gear is the cause.
The reason was an assembly error by the manufacturer. The original gear was made from urethane but was greased at the factory with a petroleum-based lubricant. This lubricant has made the material porous over the years. Therefore, you should be sure to clean the lubricant off the components before replacing it.
The material of this gear has graphite additives and does not require any lubricant!

The adjacent disc gear also often fails because it has also come into contact with the wrong lubricant. To avoid duplicate assembly work, we recommend replacing pairs with the corresponding disc gear. You can find offers for this in the shop.

Note:
Some models from '92-'93 also have a V26 (26 teeth) installed. We therefore recommend checking the number of teeth before purchasing.

The so-called involute tooth geometry is retained; this is the only way to ensure low-friction sliding of the tooth flanks between the gear pairs.
We use the thermoplastic Celron with graphite additives. These ensure low friction and wear-free operation.

If you disassemble the speedometer beforehand, please note that the speedometer needle shaft is very sensitive. Grip the speedometer needle in the middle and turn it counterclockwise, pulling gently. Friction is all that keeps the needle on the shaft.
