Description:
The protective tubes of the push rods become corroded over the years and the rubber rings often harden. The result is oil loss and the risk of dirt in the engine oil.
Rusted or leaking tappet protection tubes should therefore be replaced immediately.
During a comprehensive engine overhaul, replacing the pipes including the rubber rings around the push rods is standard.
