Description: The differential pressure sensor monitors the pressure upstream and downstream of the diesel particulate filter (DPF). These values are used to trigger the regeneration of the particulate filter. If the pressure sensor is defective, incorrect or no measured values are displayed. A defective differential pressure sensor is indicated by the engine control light. If this fault is ignored for too long, expensive damage to the particulate filter, turbocharger and engine can result. When replacing the diesel particulate filter, it is always advisable to also replace the differential pressure sensor.
No programming or similar is required after the repair.
