Description:
The hydraulic tappets (also called hydros) are typical wearing parts in Porsche engines. Defective hydraulic lifters are usually noticeable through clicking engine noises. If this clicking noise does not disappear after the engine has warmed up, it is a sign of a lack of oil in the hydraulic lifters.
Because the installation costs of the valve tappets exceed their material costs, it is always recommended to replace all hydraulic tappets.
In engines with engine codes M96.01 / M96.02 / M96.03 / M96.04 and M96.20 / M96.21 / M96.22 / M96.23 / M96.24 / M96.25 / M96.26 there are 24 hydraulic tappets of this type installed.
In the engines with engine codes M97.01 / M97.20 / M97.21 / M97.22, only 12 hydraulic tappets of this type are installed for the inlet valves.
The Porsche Cayenne engines with engine code M48.00 / M48.50 have 32 hydraulic tappets of this type installed.
