Drive shafts form the connection between wheel hub and gearbox.
The joints, which are lubricated with grease, are protected from environmental influences by axle boots and seals. Over the years, the boots become cracked. The grease can leak out and dirt entering the joint can damage it. This is why the axle boots are checked during the main inspection and are often criticized.
Defective joints are noticeable by cracking or crunching noises when cornering. It is advisable to replace worn drive shafts promptly to avoid consequential damage caused by the resulting vibrations.

Here you can obtain the seals for your 911 with 100mm flange dimension. These were fitted to the 911S, SC and Carrera models up to '86 (introduction of the G50 gearbox).
